A French Art Nouveau lithograph by Alphonse Mucha depicting Sarah Bernhardt in the role of “La Dame aux Camelias”. Circa 1896. Mucha was commissioned to design this poster for a revival, in 1896, of the play, "La dame aux camellias", featuring the beloved Sarah Bernhardt. It is notable for its depiction of contemporary costume. An iconic image of fin-de siecle art, it was featured in the album, "Les maîtres de l'affiche". It was so admired by S. Berhardt that she re-used a version of it for her American tours in 1905 and 1910.
